Incident involving an Air Corps aircraft near Cornamona, Galway on the 12/10/09 - Appeal

Anyone who may have witnessed aircraft flying in the vicinity of Crumlin, Cornamona on the 12/10/09 at approximately 17.50 hours, or with any information, is asked to contact Maam Garda Station.

 

Gardai are appealing to the public for assistance following an incident involving an Air Corps aircraft which occurred near Cornamona, Co. Galway yesterday, the 12/10/09.

 

At approximately 1750 hours on 12/10/09 two crew members of an Air Corps Pilatus PC9 were fatally injured when their aircraft came down in an area known as Crumlin, approximately 3 miles north west of Cornamona.

 

Air Accident Investigators,  Air Corps Investigators and Gardai are currently at the scene which  remains sealed off.

 

The Coroner has been notified and an incident room has been set up at Maam Garda Station.
