On Friday the 16th & Saturday the 17th October 2009 – Traffic Plan
The remains of Mr. Gately will be flown from Spain to Dublin Airport landing at approximately 16:00 hrs on Friday, 16th of October 2009. From Dublin Airport Mr. Gately’s remains will be taken to Jennings Funeral Directors on Oscar Traynor Road at approximately 17:00Hrs.
When proceedings are complete at Oscar Traynor Road Mr. Gately’s remains will be taken at approx 19:00 hrs to Jennings Funeral Home on Seville Place where close family and friends will attend. The remains will be brought from the funeral home on Seville Place by hearse to St. Lawrence O’Toole’s Church.
Funeral mass will take place at St Lawrence O’ Toole’s Church on Seville Place at 12:00Hrs on Saturday 17th of October 2009. No visual media devices will be permitted inside the church.
The remains will be removed to Glasnevin Crematorium for a private family service afterwards.
Traffic Management Friday 16th October 19.00hrs - 22.00hrs.
A large crowd of spectators and media is expected in Seville Place from 4pm onwards. Traffic will be allowed travel along Seville Place during peak hours until 7pm. Parking restrictions will be in place. After 7pm traffic restrictions will be implemented until 10pm.
Traffic Management Saturday 17th October 2009, 08.00hrs - 14.00hrs
· There will be no access for vehicular traffic at Guild Street, North Wall
· Spencer Dock will be closed and traffic diverted along New Wapping Street
· Seville Place/North Strand junction will be closed and all traffic diverted along Amiens
Street
· No vehicular access will be permitted from Upper Oriel Street onto Seville place in the
direction of Spencer Dock.
· All vehicular movement on Seville Place will be prevented between 13.00hrs and 13.30hrs
PARKING RESTRICTIONS
Parking is prohibited along the front of St. Lawrence O’Toole’s Church on Seville Place on both days.
Illegally parked vehicles will be towed away.
Road closures will be put in place at 08.00hrs to 14.00hrs on Saturday 17th October prior to and during the funeral.
No parking is available to the general public on the roads surrounding the church on Seville Place – General Public will be advised to park at Connolly Station Car Park on Sheriff Street Lower access via Amiens Street or Commons Street Car Park near Jurys Hotel access via North Wall Quay.
As traffic congestion will be expected in the area we are asking motorists to plan their journey’s accordingly.
Media - Members of the media will be located on Seville Place near the entrance of St. Lawrence O’ Toole’s Church .
