Gardaí at Store Street Garda Station are again appealing to the public for assistance in relation to the fatal shooting of Gavin Mc Carthy on 19th October 2008 (First Anniversary).
Three people have been arrested in relation to this investigation but no charges have been brought against anyone to date.

Gardai at Store Street investigating the fatal shooting of Gavin Mc Carthy on Sunday 19th October 2008 have this morning (23/10/08) arrested a 20 year old male. He was arrested in Dublin's north inner city and is currently detained at Store Street Garda Station under Section 30 Offences Against the State Act.

Gardai at Store Street investigating the fatal shooting that occurred on Sheriff Street on the 19th of October 2008 have named the victim as Gavin McCarthy, Oriel Street Lower, Dublin 1.
The family of Mr. McCarthy have asked that the media respect their privicy at this difficult time. No member of the family wishes to be interviewed and the media are requested to desist from calling to their homes. No photograph of the deceased is available.

Gardai at Store Street, Dublin are investigating a fatal shooting which occurred at approx 9pm last night 19/10/08. A 21 year old man was shot a number of times as he stood outside a fast food outlet on Sheriff St, Dublin 1. The injured man was taken to the Mater Hospital where he was pronounced dead.
The scene of the shooting is preserved pending a Garda technical examination. Investigations are on-going.
