The accident occurred when a car and a truck collided on the N72.
Gardai at Mallow are investigating a fatal road collision which occurred at 9.30am this morning, the 1st October 2009.
The accident occurred when a car and a truck collided on the N72 in the town land of Kilconway on the Mallow side of Castletownroche village.
A woman in her mid 30’s died at the scene and her body has been removed to Cork University Hospital. A six year old girl who was traveling with the woman was unhurt in the collision and has been removed to Cork University hospital for precautionary reasons.
A male who was driving the truck was unhurt and has been taken to Mallow Hospital suffering from shock.
The road is currently closed and is being attended by forensic collision investigators. Diversions are in place, witnesses are asked to contact the Gardai in Mallow on 022 31450 or the Garda Confidential Line 1800 666 111.
