A man was pronounced dead at the Mid-Western Regional Hospital following the collision.
A man has died following a fatal road traffic collision on the 4th October 2009. The crash occurred at Ahabeg, Ballysimon, Limerick on the N24, at about 8.15 p.m.
A 53 year man was pronounced dead at the Mid-Western Regional Hospital following the collision. The man was the driver of a car which was involved in a collision with an SUV. A female passenger in the car was also taken to hospital, her injuries are not thought to be life threatening. The occupants of the SUV fled the scene of the collision.
Two men in their 40’s are detained at Roxboro Road Garda Station in relation to the incident. One is detained under Section 4 of the Criminal Justice Act and the other under Section 30 of The Offences Against the State Act.
The roadway at the scene of the crash has re-opened, following the examination of the area by forensic collision investigators.
