Garda in Cavan are investigating a single vehicle fatal road traffic collision which occurred between the hours of 4am – 7am this morning, the 10th October 2009 at Lavey, Stradone, Co. Cavan.
The driver of the van, an 18 year old man, was taken to Cavan General Hospital, where he was later pronounced dead. It is believed he was the only occupant of the vehicle.
A short section of the N3 at Lavey is closed for a technical examination and diversions are in place locally.
Gardaí are appealing for anybody who may have seen this vehicle, a red Peugeot 306 van between the hours of 4am – 7am this morning, 10th October 2009, to contact Gardaí at Cavan on 049-4368800, the Garda Confidential Line 1800-666-111 or any Garda Station.
