Gardai have named the men fatally injured in this mornings road traffic collision at Caherulton, Castlemartyr, Co. Cork as Brendan Donnelly, aged 24 years, from Old Tramore Road, Waterford, and Lee Stalkeld, aged 26 years, also from Old Tramore Road, Waterford. (City)

Gardaí at Midleton are investigating a fatal road traffic collision that occurred at approximately 2.45am this morning on the N25 at Caherulton, Castlemartyr, Co. Cork.
Two cars travelling in opposite directions collided resulting in the death of 2 male passengers in one of the cars. Both these men were in their 20's and their bodies have been removed to Cork University Hospital.
This car had a female driver and one other female passenger. They were also taken to Cork University Hospital where they are being treated for their injuries. Their conditions are described as being stable.
The other car had a male driver as it's sole occupant. His car was left at the scene but he left the area.
Following an investigation of the collision he was arrested later at Ballinacurra, Midleton.
He is in his 20's and is being detained at Midleton Garda Station under section 4 of the Criminal Justice Act.
The N25 at Caherulton is closed at present to facilitate an examination by forensic collision investigators and scenes of crime Gardaí.
