Road closures in Cork - Update

Most roads affected by flooding have reopened to traffic.

In the last few hours, due to receding flood waters and clearing of road by City Council and County Council officials, most roads affected by flooding have reopened to traffic.

From 2 p.m. this afternoon, the 23/11/09, Sunday's Well Road will reopen to all traffic.  As a result the one way system in place on Blarney Road, Blarney Street, North Mall and Sunday's Well Road will cease and these routes will reopen to normal two way traffic.

The Lee Road from its junction at Wellington Bridge to Leemount Cross, has reopened to traffic.

The R618, from Leemount Cross to Cannon's Cross has reopened to traffic.

There is still some surface water on these two routes and motorists are advised to drive with care.
