Handguns and ammunition have been recovered in the St. Mary’s Park area of Limerick city.
Three handguns and a quantity of ammunition have been recovered as a result of a number of searches carried out in the St. Mary’s Park area of Limerick city this afternoon, the 9th November 2009.
The searches took place in a number of houses and open areas in the city, and were carried out by Gardai from Mayorstone Garda station supported by Gardai from Mary Street and Henry Street Garda stations, and the Regional Support Unit. The firearms have been forwarded for technical examination and investigations are continuing. There have been no arrests and any updates will be released via email.
