A man has been arrested and a quantity of drugs has been seized near Leighlinbridge, Co. Carlow.
A man has been arrested and a quantity of drugs has been seized following a Garda operation in Carlow on the 28th of November 2009.
Gardai from the Organised Crime Unit and local Gardai from Carlow supported by the Garda National Drugs Unit searched a house near Leighlinbridge in Co. Carlow on the afternoon of the 28th of November 2009. During the course of the search Gardai seized 20 kilos of what is believed to be cannabis herb and 8 kilo of what is believed to be amphetamines. Subject to ananysis the drugs may have a street value of up to €400,000.
A 21 year old man was arrested at the scene and is detained at carlow Garda Station under Section 2 of the Drugs Trafficking Act. He can be held for up to seven days.
