Gardaí at Tuam are investigating a fatal road traffic collision that occurred on the R362 at Lissyconnor on the 4/5/09. This is the main Dunmore to Glenamaddy Road.
A passing motorist informed local Gardaí that a car had left the road and had been in a collision with fencing. The exact time of the collision is unknown but it happened sometime prior to it being discovered at 6.20am.
The 29 year old male driver and sole occupant was taken to Roscommon County Hospital where he was pronounced dead a short time later.
The road is closed at present pending a Garda Forensic Collision Investigation.
