Gardaí in Drogheda assisted by Gardaí from the National Drug Unit, Dog Unit, Criminal Assets Bureau and Customs & Excise searched a number of dwellings at Cement Road, Drogheda.
As a result of an operation by detective Gardaí in Drogheda assisted by Gardaí from the National Drug Unit, Dog Unit, Criminal Assets Bureau and Customs & Excise a number of dwellings were searched at Cement Road, Drogheda this morning, the 1st May, 2009.
During the course of the searches Gardaí seized a large quantity of what is believed to be cocaine (street value €1.75 million, approximately, subject to analysis).
Customs seized a car under customs legislation.
Gardaí also recovered a revolver, and a quantity of ammunition.
One male aged mid 20’s was arrested during the course of one of the searches and is currently detained at Drogheda Garda Station under Section 2 Drug Trafficking Act 1996.
