Gardai in Cabinteely in Dublin are investigating the circumstances surrounding the death of a 57 year old woman in the Willowvale area of Ballybrack in Dublin.
Gardai were called to a house in the area shortly after 7.30pm yesterday evening - 7th November 2008 with regard to a domestic incident.
The woman was subsequently pronounced dead at the scene by a doctor.
A 60 year old man was arrested at the scene in connection with the incident and is currently being detained at Dun Laoghaire Garda Station under Section 4 of the Criminal Justice Act.
The scene is being preserved and a technical examination will take place this morning - 8th November 2008.
A postmortem examination is due to be carried out on the body at the City Morgue later today.
