The St. Patrick's festival will take place from 13th to 17th March 2009.
This is a "fun" festival and An Garda Siochana provides the following information / advice with a view to ensuring that the entire Community enjoys the Festival.
The public are advised to :
Plan their journeys, depart in good time and use public transport where possible.
If using private cars, authorised car parks should be used.
Valuable items should not be left in parked vehicles.
Valuable items should, if left in a vehicle, be stored out of sight.
Those attending events should comply with the directions of the Gardai / Festival organisers.
The St. Patrick's Festival is organised with the co-operation of a large number of organisations, including Dublin City Council, Public Transport Providers, City Centre Business Associations, An Garda Siochana etc.

A St. Patrick's Festival information booth will be in place at the Molly Malone Statue on Grafton Street between 9.00 am and 10.00 pm from Friday 13th to Tuesday 17th March 2009 inclusive.

Funfair from Friday 13th to Tuesday 17th March 2009 at Merrion Square West. Open from 12.00 noon to 11.00 pm daily.
Road Closure on Merrion Square West from 10.00 pm Tuesday 10th to 10.00 pm Wednesday 18th March, 2009.
Big Day Out - Street Theatre on Sunday 15th March at Merrion Square, Fitzwilliam Street Upper and Lower. Open from 12.00 noon to 6.00 pm.
Road closure on Merrion Square and Fitzwilliam Street Upper and Lower from 08.00 am to 8.00 pm on Sunday 15th March, 2009.
St. Patrick's Festival 5K Road Race, Sunday 15th March. Race starts at Mansion House Dawson Street at 12.00 noon. Route Dawson Street, St. Stephen's Green, Baggot Street, Pembroke Street, Fitzwilliam Square, Herbert Street, Wilton Terrace, Leeson Street, Adelaide Road, Leeson Street,Pembroke Street, Baggot Street and finish at the Mansion House.
Road closures on Dawson Street from 10.30 am to 1.30 pm and along the route from 11.30 am to 1.30 pm on Sunday 15th March, 2009.
St. Patrick's Day Parade, Tuesday 17th March, 2009. Starts at Western Way at 12.00 noon and finishes in Patrick Street at 2.15 pm.
Road Closures from 7.00 am to 4.00pm on Tuesday 17th March, 2009.
An Garda Siochana have consulted widely with the Community with a view to minimising the disruption to the public generally and in particular to those residents and business people in the affected areas.
