Gardaí at Castlerea, Roscommon, are investigating the robbery of a post office in Ballinlough that occurred shortly after 8.30am this morning.
Gardaí at Castlerea, Roscommon, are investigating the robbery of a post office in Ballinlough that occurred shortly after 8.30am this morning.
The male owner of the post office, who is in his 40’s, was held up by 3 men wearing balaclavas.
One of the men was armed with a sawn off shotgun, one was armed with a knife and the other was armed with a hatchet.
They tied up the owner and got away with an undisclosed amount of cash.
The alarm was raised when a member of staff came to work a short time later.
No one was injured during the course of this incident.
