As part of a joint Garda / Customs Operation (Operation Tie) , coordinated by the Criminal Assets Bureau (CAB), National Support Services and the Dublin Metropolitan Regional Traffic Department, four men were arrested this morning , the 26/3/09.

The four men arrested and are expected to appear before Tallaght District Court this morning at 10.30am, the 26/3/09.

As part of a joint Garda / Customs operation (Operation TIE), coordinated by the Criminal Assets Bureau (CAB) a number of actions were taken this morning , the 12/12/07. The operation, which commenced over nine months ago, involves investigations into criminal activity, primarily revenue irregularities and profits from criminal activity.
Between 6a.m. and 9a.m., officers engaged in Operation TIE searched a total of 30 premises which included private houses, business premises and professional offices. A quantity of documentation was seized during the course of these searches, along with a number of vehicles and a 9mm handgun.
While searches took place throughout the city, the bulk were concentrated on locations in the Dublin 12 / Naas Road area.
One man in his 50’s was arrested in Finglas and is currently detained at Blanchardstown Garda Station under the provisions of Section 4 Criminal Justice Act.
Operation TIE is ongoing and details of further actions will be advised to you, as appropriate.
