Attempted robbery at Grenagh Post Office, Cork on the 25/2/09 - Witness appeal

Gardai at Gurranabraher wish to appeal for the publics assistance in relation to an attempted robbery of Grenagh Post Office, Blarney, Co. Cork.

 

Gardai at Gurranabraher wish to appeal for the publics assistance in relation to an attempted robbery of Grenagh Post Office, Blarney, Co. Cork on Wednesday, the 25/2/09 at approximately 2.13pm.

A lone male entered the Post Office with what appeared to be a handgun and demanded money from the Post Master. He was unsuccessful and fled the scene empty handed. No shots were discharged and no one was injured.

He is described as wearing a blue coloured boiler suit, a bright coloured hooded top and gloves. He was of slim build and wore a balaclava - not better described.

Gardai are particularly interested in information about a car believed to be used in the course of this incident, a black Ford Escort, 96 C 1368, which was later located a short distance away from the scene. In addition, Gardai have not ruled out the possibility that a bicycle may have been used.
