Gardaí at Ballymun stopped a car and took it to Ballymun Garda Station where a full search took place and heroin was found concealed in the car.
Uniformed Gardaí at Ballymun were conducting a checkpoint on Balbutcher Lane last night, the 26/6/09 shortly after 9pm when they stopped a car.
This car and it's driver were taken to Ballymun Garda Station where a full search took place and €70,000 worth of heroin (subject to analysis) was found concealed in the car.
A small amount of cash and a weighing scales were also seized.
A 21 year old man was arrested and detained at Ballymun Garda Station under section 2 of the Drug Trafficking Act.
He will appear before Dublin District Court 44 this afternoon at 4.30pm charged in relation to the incident.
The Ballymun Drugs Unit assisted uniformed Gardaí in this case.
