Attempted Armed robbery on the Foxborough Road, Lucan on the 15/5/09 - Arrest

Under Section 30 Offences Against the State Act 1939/98


Gardai in Lucan investigating the attempted armed robbery on the Foxborough Road, Lucan on the 15th May 2009 (Previous Press release below) have arrested a male is in his early 20's in the Foxdene estate of Lucan on 24th June 2009 under Section 30 Offences Against the State Act 1939/98. He is currently being detained at Lucan Garda Station.


A youth in his late teens was also arrested for unrelated offences. He is being detained at Ronanstown Garda Station.

Gardai from the Organised Crime Unit at the  National Bureau of Criminal Investigation  today intercepted an armed criminal group at Foxborough Rd, Lucan, Co Dublin.

During the incident a number of shots were fired and 2 men were injured. One of the men  has since died in hospital. The State Pathologist has been contacted.

Four men aged in their 20’s have been arrested and are currently being detained in Lucan and Ronanstown Garda Stations under Section 30 of the Offences Against the State Act, 1939.

The Garda Siochana Ombudsman Commission has been notified of the incident.
