Robbery in Clogheen, Tipperary on the 3/7/09 - Witness appeal

Two men dressed as workmen entered the bank and threatened staff escaping with an undisclosed sum of money.


Gardai at Cahir are seeking the publics’ assistance in relation to a Bank Robbery that occurred at the AIB, Clogheen, Co. Tipperary on the 3rd of July 2009 at approximately 10am.

 

Two men dressed as workmen entered the bank and threatened staff escaping with an undisclosed sum of money. No one was injured. They are described as:

 

First male- Shaven head, light beard wearing a dust mask on his face. He had a blue hard hat and a grey coloured hooded type high visibility jacket with a name printed on the back. He had black footwear with a white rim and wore surgical type gloves. He was of strong build.

 

Second male- Dark coloured hair with a dust mask on his face, white hard hat, dark coloured top with grey trousers, white shoes and green gardening gloves. He was also described as being of strong build. 

 

A red coloured hatchback type car, possibly a Volkswagen Golf, was seen acting suspiciously in Clogheen prior to the robbery.

 

Gardai are appealing to any witness who saw anything suspicious in Clogheen or the surrounding area on the morning of the 3rd of July, to contact Cahir Garda Station, 052 – 7445630, The Garda Confidential Line 1800 666 111 or any Garda Station.
