Oxegen ’09 got underway this afternoon, the 9/7/09 with music fans making their way to Punchestown Racecourse in Co. Kildare for the three-day music festival which officially begins tomorrow, the 10/7/09.

24,000 fans had arrived by 6pm with approximately 35,000 expected by the end of the day.
Gardai are encouraging those travelling to Oxegen to make use of public transport and the Free Park and Ride facilities available from Goffs (off Junction 8, N7).
