Gardai at Ballyfermot are investigating the fatal shooting of a male in his mid 20's which occurred at St. Mary's Avenue West, Ballyfermot, Dublin, shortly before 4.00pm this afternoon - 17th July 2009.
Gardai responding to a call discovered a man with serious injuries.
The man was subsequently pronounced dead at the scene.
The area has been sealed off and the man's body remains at the scene.
