The female being detained was released without charge late last night, a file will be prepare for the Director Of Public Prosecutions.

Gardai investigating the murder of Sharon Whelan and her daughters have arrested a female this morning the 16th of January 2009. The woman who is in her late teens,is detained under Section 30 of the Offences Against The State Act at Kilkenny Garda Station.

As part of the investigation into the murder of Sharon Whelan and her daughters Nadia and Zarah at Roscon, Windgap, Co. Kilkenny on the 25th December 2008, Gardai have arrested a man.
The man was arrested late this afternoon the 15th of January 2009 and is detained under Section 4 of the Criminal Justice Act at Kilkenny Garda Station. (He may be detained for up to 24 hours.)
Gardai are renewing their appeal for anyone with any information to contact them at Kilkenny Garda Station on 056 777 5070.
