Gardaí in Ballygar, Co. Galway are investigating a fatal road traffic collision that occurred at approximately 7pm yesterday evening, Monday the 5th of January.
An 85 year old female pedestrian was pronounced dead at the scene in the The Square in Ballygar after being struck by a car.
She was removed to Ballinasloe Mortuary.
Gardai are appealling to any person who may have witnessed this collision or was in the village of Ballygar at around 7 p.m. on the night of Monday 5th January, 2009 to contact them at Ballygar Garda Station on 090-6624512 or Mountbellew at 090-9679292.
