As part of an ongoing operation against organised criminal activity, Gardai from the Organised Crime Unit of the National Bureau of Criminal Investigation (NBCI) stopped two vehicles in the Ballyfermot and Clondalkin area of Dublin yesterday evening Friday 23rd January, 2008 at 7.30 p.m.
As part of an ongoing operation against organised criminal activity, Gardai from the Organised Crime Unit of the National Bureau of Criminal Investigation (NBCI) stopped two vehicles in the Ballyfermot and Clondalkin area of Dublin yesterday evening Friday 23rd January, 2008 at 7.30 p.m.
During the course of this search Heroin with a potential street value in excess of €3m was seized.
A total of five people have been arrested - four men ranging from 17 years to late 30's and one female aged 18 years. They are currently detained at Ballyfermot Garda Station (2) and Clondalkin Garda Station (2 male and one female) under Section 2 Drug Trafficking Act.
