A 37 year old man who was arrested in connection with a shooting incident which occurred at approximately 1pm on 22/2/09 at the Garda Sports and Leisure Centre at Westmanstown, Dublin 15 (previous release below refers) is currently appearing in Dublin District Court today to be charged in connection with the incident.

Gardaí in Lucan are investigating a shooting incident which occurred at approximately 1pm on the 22/2/09 at the Garda Sports and Leisure Centre at Westmanstown, Dublin 15.
One man in his mid 30’s has been brought to hospital, having been shot a number of times as he sat in his car.
The lone gunman also in his mid 30’s was disarmed and arrested by off-duty Gardai at the scene.
Two firearms were also recovered at the scene.
The arrested man is currently being detained in Lucan Garda station under Section 30 of the Offences Against the State Act.
The scene is currently being preserved.
