Gardai stopped a vehicle on the N.7 near Rathcoole, Co. Dublin as part of an intelligence led operation.
As part of an intelligence led operation by the G.N.D.U. and O.C.U. (Organised Crime Unit), and assisted by the E.R.U. (Emergency Response Unit) yesterday evening 21st February, 2009 at 7.30 p.m. Gardai stopped a vehicle on the N.7 near Rathcoole, Co. Dublin.
During the course of the operation two men were arrested and a firearm (handgun) was recovered and in excess of 100 rounds of ammunition.
The two men in their late 30's are currently detained at Clondalkin Garda Station under Section 30 Offences Against the State Act.
