Gardai investigating the death of William Stokes have arrested a further three people, this afternoon the 19th of December 2009.
A female in her 30's is detained at Cahir Garda Station, another female in her 20's is detained at Tipperary Garda Station and a male in his 30's is detained at Cahir Garda Station. All three are detained under Section 30 of the Offences Against The State Act and may be detained for up to 72 hours.
This brings to five the number of people in custody.

Two people have been arrested by Gardai investigating the death of 48 year old William Stokes in Tipperary Town on the 18th of December 2009.
The man in his 20s and the woman in her 40’s were arrested overnight in Waterford. The man is detained under Section 4 of the Criminal Justice Act and the woman under Section 30 of the Offences Against The State Act. Both are being held at Tipperary Garda Station.

Gardai at Tipperary Town are investigating a fatal stabbing that occurred at approximately 6pm on Friday, the 18/12/09 at the junction of Kickham Place and Abbey Street.
A middle aged man was fatally injured as a result of being stabbed while he sat in his van. The van was parked on the road outside a shop. Following the incident he succeeded in driving his van a short distance before it came to a stop at the junction of Bridge Street and Main Street.
The scene has been preserved for technical examination and the office of the state pathologist has been notified.
