Gardai at Oranmore, Galway are investigating a two vehicle fatal road traffic collision which occurred at approximately 7am this morning (12/12/09) on the N18 at Moneymore, Oranmore, Co. Galway.
Two cars were involved in the collision. A female passenger (26yrs) in one of the cars was pronounced dead at the scene, the male driver and other male passenger in the car (only occupants) have been taken to University College Hospital, Galway their injuries are not believed to be life threatening. The male driver (only occupant) of the second car has been also been taken to UCHG where he is currently being treated for minor injuries.
The N18 at Moneymore, Oranmore is currently closed pending a full examination by Garda Forensic Collision Investigators. The road is expected to remain closed for a number of hours. Diversions are in place.
