Gardai have arrested three men and seized a quantity of cannabis plants following an operation near Leighlinbridge.
This evening Gardai from the Garda National Drugs Unit, and Gardai from Carlow Garda Station, searched a property at a rural location near Leighlinbridge, Co. Carlow.
At the premises they discovered 500 cannabis plants, as well as paraphernalia used for growing the plants. The plants subject to analysis may have a street value of up to €200.000.
Three men in their 20's, were arrested at the scene and are detained under Section 2 of the Drug Trafficking Act at Carlow Garda Station. They can be detained for up to seven days.
The premises is sealed off for technical examination by Garda Crime Scene Examiners and the incident is under investigation.
