Drug seizure and arrest in Swords, Dublin on the 5/12/09

A man has been arrested and a quantity of drugs seized following a Garda operation in Swords.

Gardai from the Divisional Drugs Unit searched a motor car in Swords, Co. Dublin this afternoon, the 5th of December 2009.  During the course of the search Gardai seized a quantity of cannabis resin.  Subject to analysis the drugs may have a street value of up to €500,000.


A man in his 20s was arrested at the scene and is detained at Swords Garda Station under Section 2 of the Drugs Trafficking Act.  He can be held for up to seven days.
