Gardai in Ennis are appealing for witnesses to an assault which occurred at 'The Height', Ennis Co. Clare last night - 26th December shortly before midnight.
A 26 year old male received head injuries and was taken to Limerick Regional Hospital following the incident, where he is in a critical condition.
Two men (aged 29 and 22) were arrested in connection with the incident earlier today, the 27th December 2009 and are being detained under the provisions of Section 4 Criminal Justice Act 1984 as amended, in Ennis Garda Station. A female (38yrs) was also arrested in connection with the incident this evening, the 27th December 2009 and is being detained under the provisions of Section 30 Offences Against the State Act 1939 as amended, in Shannon Garda Station.
'The Height' is an area in Ennis at the junction of O'Connell Street, Abbey Street and Bank Place.
