Fatal road traffic collision near Athenry, Galway on the 1/8/09

The single car crash occurred on the Athenry to Galway road.

 

Gardai are investigating a fatal road traffic collision near Athenry, Co. Galway.  The single car crash occurred on the Athenry to Galway road at 11.15 p.m. on Saturday the 1st of August 2009.

 

The driver of the car, a 25 year old woman, was pronounced dead at the scene.  A female passenger in he 30s received minor injuries.

 

The road is closed at the scene to facilitate forensic collision investigators and is expected to re-open at 10.00 a.m. on the 2nd of August.
