Firearm recovered and arrests at Mitchelstown, Cork on the 16/4/09

Uniformed Gardai stopped a car at Cloonlough, Mitchelstown, Co. Cork.

At 20.32 pm on the 16th April 2009 at Cloonlough, Mitchelstown, Co. Cork, uniform Gardai from Mitchelstown Garda Station stopped a car with four male occupants, and recovered a firearm (subject to examination), along with 2 baseball bats and a number of balaclavas.

The men aged who are between 18 and 26 are currently detained under the  provisions of Section 30 of the Offences Against the State Act, 1939, at Midleton and Fermoy Garda Stations.
