Gardaí at Kilrush, Co. Clare are investigating a single vehicle fatal road traffic collision that occurred at Tullabrack, Cooraclare, Clare.
Gardai have named the 54 year old man killed in last evenings (11/4/09) crash near Kilrush, as Jim Ahearn of Kilrush, Co. Clare.

Gardaí at Kilrush, Co. Clare are investigating a single vehicle fatal road traffic collision that occurred at Tullabrack, Cooraclare, Clare at approximately 5.10 p.m. this evening - 11th April, 2009.
A man in this late 50's was killed when the car in which he was travelling collided with a tree. There was no other persons in the vehicle at the time.
The man was taken to Limerick Regional Hospital where he was subsequently pronounced dead.
The road has now been re-opened following a technical examination.
