On 25.4.2009 at approx 11am, in a planned operation, Gardai from Clonmel carried out a search of a flat, at Mary Street, Clonmel, Co. Tipperary, where they recovered 3 firearms, (subject to technical examination). A large quantity of cocaine and cannabis, (subject to analysis), was also recovered.
On 25.4.2009 at approx 11am, in a planned operation, Gardaí from Clonmel carried out a search of a flat, at Mary Street, Clonmel, Co. Tipperary, where they recovered 3 firearms, (subject to technical examination) A large quantity of cocaine and cannabis, (subject to analysis), was also recovered.
One male (aged 41 years) and 2 females (aged 31 years and 37 years) were arrested at the scene and are currently being detained under the provisions of Section 30 Offences against the state Act 1939, at Clonmel and Cahir Garda Stations.
As part of the investigation a second man has been arrested and is being detained at Cahir Garda Station under Section 30 Offences against the state Act 1939.
In a follow-up operation this evening further searches were carried out in Clonmel. A quantity of cocaine was seized.
The total value of drugs seized in this operation is approximately €1 million.
