On the 29th September 2008 Gardai at Swords, Co Dublin became aware of an incident at the Swords Business Park.
At 3.30pm today Monday 29th September 2008 Gardai at Swords, Co Dublin became aware of an incident at the Swords Business Park.
A man had threatened self harm. A Garda Critical Incident Management was put in place and was atteneded by various sections of An Garda Siochana including a negotiating team and members of the Emergency Response Unit.
At 9pm this evening the incident concluded when the man was overpowered by Gardai, during the course of this he inflicted injury to himself. The man has been removed to hospital where he is being treated for his injuries which are not thought to be life threatening.
No other person was injured. Investigations are on-going. The Garda Ombudsman's has been contacted.
