Gardai in Buncrana and the Garda Ombudsman have launched parallel investigations into a single vehicle road traffic collision which occurred in Muff Village, Co. Donegal this morning - 5th September 2008 at approximately 1.00am.
The car collided with a wall. Two men were brought to Letterkenny General Hospital following the collision and the passenger, a 22 year old male was pronounced dead on arrival. Injuries to the second man are not believed to be life threatening.
The road through Muff Village is currently closed and diversions are in place. Gardai are appealing for anyone who may have witnessed or have information about the collision to contact Buncrana Garda Station on 074-9320540.
Although this is a parallel investigation, An Garda Siochana is leading the investigation and media queries should be directed to the Garda Press Office.
