Cash in transit robbery at Drogheda on the 18/9/08 - 1093/08

On the 18/9/08 two armed men held up a security van at Bryanstown, Drogheda, Co Meath.

Gardai investigating this mornings (18th Sep.) incident at Drogheda where a security van was held up have released from custody the three people, two men and one woman, arrested near Dublin Airport. 

At 10am two armed men held up a security van at Bryanstown, Drogheda, Co Meath.  They escaped from the scene in a green van, with an undisclosed amount of cash and were seen heading in the direction of the Old Plattin Road.  This van was recovered burnt out near the area. It is believed that they used a red hatchback and a blue estate car to escape. 

The incident remains under investigation and Gardai are appealing for witnesses to contact them on 041 98742000. 

Note to editors: We are aware that a free lance photographer may have taken pictures of three people being arrested near the airport. 

Gardai are satisfied at this point that these people were not involved in the incident at Drogheda.
