Gardai arrested an 18 year old man last night (11/11/08) in relation to a drugs seizure which occurred at a house on Lower Sherriff Street at approximately 11.30pm.
The planned operation was carried out by Gardai from Store Street, the Divisional Crime Task Force and the Garda Dog Unit, in an attempt to combat drug dealing in the Sheriff Street area.
A quantity of cannabis resin was seized in the operation. Subject to analysis the seizure may have a street value of approximately €12,000..
The 18 year old man is being detained under Section 4 of the Criminal Justice Act 1984 at Store Street Garda station.
