Approx. €140,000 worth of cannabis resin and heroin were seized by the Divisional Drug Unit, Limerick
Gardai from the Divisional Drug Unit in Limerick have conducted a number of searches yesterday afternoon and evening (21.11.08) resulting in the seizure of cannabis resin and heroin with an estimated street value, pending forensic analysis, in excess of €140,000.00.
As a result of a vehicle being stopped and houses searched three people were arrested, two were detained under Section 2 of the Drug Trafficking Act 1996(one male in his mid 30's and one female aged 22 years) and one male was detained under Section 4 of the Criminal Justice Act.
All three were released this afternoon and a file will be forwarded to the Director of Public Prosecutions.
