Heroin and cocain worth an est. €2 million seized on the outskirts of Blessington, Co. Wicklow.
Gardai from the Baltinglass district assisted by the Garda National Drug Unit and other national units have this evening 22nd November, 2008 seized heroin and cocaine with an estimated street value, pending forensic analysis, of €2 million.
The planned operation was conducted on an open area on the outskirts of Russelstown, Blessington. Officers also seized a handgun and a large quantity of ammunition.
One male aged 24 years has been arrested and is currently detained at Naas Garda Station under Section 2 of the Drug Trafficking Act, 1996.
There are no plans to put any seizures on display.
