As part of the ongoing investigation into the murder of Shane Geoghegan and organised crime groups in Limerick, Gardai carried out a number of searches in the Galvone area of Limerick city today 28th November 2008.
This search was carried out by the Limerick Divisional Search Team assisted by members of the Garda National Drugs Unit and Gardai from Roxboro Road.
During the course of the search 2 kilos of cocaine, with an estimated street value of €150,000 (subject to analysis), three firearms (two rifles and one shotgun) and a large quantity of shotgun cartridges were recovered.
The drugs and firearms will be put on display at 3.30pm today at Roxboro Road Garda station. Media are invited to attend.
