Armed Robbery of Post Office in Arklow on the 20/11/08.
Gardai at Arklow are investigating an armed robbery which occurred at the Post Office on Main Street, Arklow at approximately 9.30am this morning (20/11/2008).
Three men, one believed to be armed, entered the Post Office and got away with an undisclosed amount of cash. They made their getaway in a blue van, which was found a short distance away.
A number of Garda checkpoints were set-up in the surrounding areas following the robbery. A white van was subsequently stopped at one of these checkpoints and Gardai arrested three men.
The men are currently detained at Arklow and Wicklow Garda Stations under Section 30 of the Offences Against the State Act.
Some property has been recovered.
