Garda enforcement activities in this area of road safety will continue to be prioritised.
A review of activity would indicate that during the seven day period from Monday the 28th April, 2008 to Sunday 4th May April, 2008 inclusive, a total of five hundred and seventy six (576) drink driving incidents were recorded, compared three hundred and sixty (360) the previous week.
Incidents of Drink Driving incidents for the bank holiday period were four hundred and seventy (470).
