As a result of an ongoing operation targeting organized crime, Gardai from a number of National Units searched a premises in Carra, Co. Kildare and located a stolen 40 ft container.
The container contained a consignment of Plasma Televisions that were stolen from a distribution warehouse in Santry at approximately 8 a.m. this morning 20th May, 2008.
Six men were arrested, they are aged from 23 years to 51 years are being detained under Section 4 of the Criminal Justice Act, 1984 at Naas (2), Newbridge (2) and Kildare (2) Garda Stations.
The property recovered is estimated to have a wholesale value of between €1.2 million and €1.6 million. For investigative reasons the property will not be displayed.
