Seizure of hand guns and granades in Dublin on the 18/3/08.

Gardai have arrested a male and a female after a car was stopped at Walkinstown Road, Dublin.

Gardai have arrested a male and a female (aged 44 years and 45 years) after a car was stopped at Walkinstown Road, Dublin after 9 p.m. on the 18/3/08.

Gardai from the Organised Crime Unit stopped the car as part of Operation Anvil and during the course of a search discovered a hand gun and two grenades.

Both the male and female were arrested and are being detained at Garda stations in South Dublin under the provisions of Section 30 Offences against the State Act.
