Operation Safeguard will take place from the 13th of June to the 18th of June 2008 inclusive.
Operation Safeguard will take place from Friday the 13th of June to Wednesday the 18th of June 2008 inclusive.
The emphasis of this Garda traffic operation is to promote and improve a compliance culture amongst the public, through the comprehensive enforcement of all facets of Road Traffic Legislation.
Offences to be targeted through Operation Safeguard include:
1) Driving licence, in particular Provisional Driving Licence/Permit Holders driving unaccompanied and/or failing to display ‘L’ plates.
2) Vehicle insurance.
3) Road tax.
4) NCT.
5) Tyres.
6) Registration plates.
7) Lighting regulations.
8) Use of seat belts and child restraints.
9) Driving when holding a mobile phone.
10) Driving when intoxicated.
