This is an ongoing Operation involving the arrest of a large number of people in relation to the supply of heroin and cocaine.
Detectives from the Garda National Drug Unit working closely with local Garda Units from the greater Dublin area searched 100 premises in the past 48 hours and arrested 70 suspects for involvement in the sale and supply of Heroin and Cocaine.
‘Operation Cellar’ has been a four month covert operation which has dismantled two significant drug distribution networks operating in Dublin city centre.
The operation has involved personnel from the Garda National Drug Unit and divisional and district drug units throughout the Dublin Metropolitan Region.
To date 64 men and 6 women were charged with offences relating to the supply of serious controlled drugs, principally Heroin and Cocaine. In addition a charge was preferred against one suspect for a serious armed robbery.
During the course of these searches small quantities of drugs and an imitation firearm were recovered.
The focus of this operation has been to gather evidence against significant drug dealers in local communities and ensure these persons are brought before the courts.

The Garda National Drug Unit works together with local Garda Drug Units to ensure a co-ordinated and effective approach to protecting our communities, individuals and their families from the harm and pain caused by drug use.
