Oxegen 2008 Concerts at Punchestown Racecourse, Naas, Co. Kildare from July 10th to 14th 2008.
The following traffic arrangements will be in place for the Oxegen 2008 Concerts at Punchestown Racecourse, Naas, Co. Kildare from July 10th to 14th 2008.
Travel Routes:
1. Traffic from the M1, N2, N3 and N4 will travel via the M50 to the N7 (Dublin / Limerick Road). Traffic will travel from the N7 (Exit 9) into Naas and onto the Blessington Road via the R410 and onto Punchestown Racecourse.
2. Traffic travelling from South Dublin can travel via the N11, N81 (Tallaght / Blessington Rd) through Blessington, continue on the N81 southbound to Ballymore Eustace (R411) and the follow direction signage to Punchestown Racecourse.
3. Traffic from the South East (N9, N78, N80, M9) can travel via the Carlow or Athy routes through Kilcullen and onto the Naas Rd. At a landmark called Raffertys Mill (Naas to Kilcullen Rd) traffic will turn right and onto Punchestown Racecourse.
4. Traffic from the South / South West can travel via the N8, N7, M7 turning off at Newbridge exit (Ballymany Fly over) to Kilcullen and travel as set out at No 3.
5. Traffic from the South East / South / South West intending to use the Park and Ride Facility (South) will travel along the (N7, N8, N9, M9, N80) M7 northbound to Exit 10 and follow directional signage to the park and ride site.
6. Traffic from the Dublin / North intending to use the Park and Ride Facility (North) will travel along the N7 southbound to Exit 8 and follow directional signage to the park and ride site. All routes will be clearly sign posted using VMS (Variable Message Signs) Boards and Event signage.
A one-way traffic system will operate throughout the event for all buses and minibuses only. All such vehicles will arrive at Punchestown via the Blessington Road / Beggars End route (R410) and will exit via the Ballymore Road / Watch House Cross route (R411). They will be permitted to enter the site via the Beggars End Gate (Gate 2) and exit via the Main Gate (Gate 3).
Park and Ride Centres:
Park and Ride Centres - An Garda Siochana and MCD (Event Promoters) wish to urge all patrons attending the event to use the enhanced Park and Ride facilities available for this years event. The Park and Ride facilities will be serviced by a dedicated fleet of coaches that will cater for all campers needs. All Park and Ride coaches will travel on dedicated routes and will receive priority both to / from the venue. The Park and Ride Centres will be open from Thursday 10th July on a 24hr basis until Monday 14th July. The also Park and Ride Centres be used for persons who wish to drop off and collect patrons attending the concerts. The park and ride facility will be FREE OF CHARGE and all shuttles to / from will be FREE OF CHARGE.
The park and ride facilities will be as follows:
1. Goffs, Kill, Co. Kildare.
Goffs (North) Park and Ride site is located approx. 5km north of Naas on the main Dublin to Naas Rd (N7) and accessed by travelling from North and Southbound Lanes via the Johnstown, Kill / Sallins Interchange, Exit 8 off the N7. Goffs Park and Ride is intended to cater for traffic travelling from the North / North East / West (N1, N2, N3, M4 / N4, N7), the South East (N11, N81 via M50 and N7) and South / South East Dublin directions. All vehicles will follow directional signage (VMS and finger post signage) from the N7 to the Park and Ride sites and clearly follow Gardai / Car Parking directions on site.
2. Floods Cross, Newhall, Naas, Co. Kildare.
Floods Cross, Newhall (South) Park and Ride site is located approx. 5km south of Naas on the Naas to Rathangan Rd and accessed by travelling from North and Southbound Lanes via the Naas South Interchange, Exit 10 off the N7. Floods Cross (South) Park and Ride is intended to cater for traffic travelling from the South / South East (N7, N8, N9, M9, N80) directions. All vehicles will follow directional signage (VMS and finger post signage) from the N7 to the Park and Ride sites and clearly follow Gardai / Car Parking directions on site.
On Site Parking
On Site Parking – On site parking at Punchestown Racecourse will also be available and the following arrangements for Buses/Coaches and private vehicles will be in place:
All patrons with BLUE Car Parking Tickets must follow BLUE Traffic Route (Signposted) and enter the BLUE Car Park.
All patrons with RED Car Parking Tickets must follow RED Traffic Route (Signposted) and enter the RED Car Park.
Parking Arrangements – Thursday 10th and Friday 11th July 2008:
All non-bus concert traffic (campers) on the Blessington Road (R410) will be directed from Beggars End Cross to the next junction where they will turn left into the BLUE Car Park (Walshestown Road), where they will access the BLUE Campsites.
All non-bus concert traffic (campers) on the Ballymore Rd / Watch House Cross junction (R411) will be directed into RED Car Parks (Ballymore Rd), where they will access the RED and BLUE Campsites.
All buses/coaches will be directed to Beggars End Gate where they will be allowed drop passengers and access the campsites in appointed parking areas.
Pedestrian traffic will not be allowed on any routes.
Car Parking on site is subject to a fee of by the promoter however no charging will be made at entry gates. All parking charges will be checked by event promoter after vehicles are parked.
Parking Arrangements - Saturday 12th and Sunday 13th July 2008:
All individual day ticket holders are advised to use the park and ride facilities at North and South Park and Ride sites.
All persons wishing to use a drop off / pick up facility are advised to use the park and ride facility at Goffs. All non-bus concert traffic (campers) on the Blessington Road (R410) will be directed from Beggars End Cross to the next junction where they will turn left into BLUE Car Park (Walshestown Road) until full, where they will access the BLUE Campsites.
All non-bus concert traffic (campers) on the Ballymore Rd / Watch House Cross junction (R411) will be directed into RED Car Parks (Ballymore Rd), where they will access the RED and BLUE Campsites. All buses / coaches will be directed to Beggars End Gate where they will be allowed drop passengers and access the campsites in appointed parking areas.
Car Parking:
Car Parking on site is subject to a fee of by the promoter however no charging will be made at entry gates. All parking charges will be checked by event promoter after vehicles are parked.
Dublin Bus
Dublin Bus will provide a shuttle service from Dublin City Centre from 12 noon on Thursday 10th July 2008 and throughout the weekend. All patrons using the Dublin Bus service will use the dedicated drop off and pick up locations on the event site.
Illegal Parking:
No parking of vehicles will be permitted on any of the approach routes to the concert site on the days of the event. Parking restrictions will be in place on roads leading to the concert site. Vehicles found breaching the restrictions will be towed away and towing charges will be incurred in such cases.
Shuttle Bus Services (To / From Naas Town)
A shuttle bus service will be put in place by the event promoter to deal with persons returning to / from Naas. This shuttle service will operate from Thursday 10th July to Monday 14th July 2008 on a continuous basis. The buses will be clearly identifiable as SHUTTLE BUSES - NAAS and will be FREE OF CHARGE.
At the end of concert each night a designated collection point is assigned at the Main Car Park to deal with this issue. Pedestrians are advised to make full use of the service to reduce the risk to themselves and other motorists at the event.
Taxi and Other Drop Offs / Pick Ups
All taxis and individuals wishing to drop off patrons will use the Goffs Park and Ride site on the N7 (Exit 8). All taxis and cars picking up at the end of show will use the Goffs Park and Ride site on the N7 (Exit 8) where all picks ups will be arranged. The event promoter will provide a dedicated drop off and pick up area for all taxis and individuals to ease transfer of all patrons to / from shuttle buses. Shuttle buses will be available on a 24hr basis from Thursday to Monday.
All Parking at Park & Ride Sites is FREE. All shuttles to / from Punchestown are FREE.
Event Signage
All routes to / from the event site will have directional signage. The signs used for this event will be VMS (Variable Message Signs – Flashing Signs) and directional boards.
The signage will indicate Park and Ride Centres (North and South) and also the RED and BLUE Car Park Routes. All patrons attending are advised to pay attention to event signage and follow directions of Gardai and stewards when arriving and leaving the event site(s).
Emergency Route
The Craddockstown Road has been designated as the event Emergency Route and will be manned at all times for the duration of the event. This route will be used by emergency vehicles and residents only. No other vehicles including taxis, buses etc will be allowed access this route.
No pedestrians will be allowed to walk on the Emergency Route at the end of the concert.
The free access of this route for ambulances / emergency services has been restricted previously by pedestrians, Gardai on duty at either end of the route will prevent pedestrians from walking on the route.
